Actually, despite what you may have thought, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. To all who have telephoned me, I'm sorry if I haven't responded yet. Trying to get Cingular service in my house is like getting a refund from Enterprise Rental Car, damn near impossible.

All is well at home: my mom is doing well, it's suffocatingly humid, I've been reading a lot, the works. I'll write a lot more when I can have uninterrupted access to the internet. Right now I'm writing to you from a community center, and against my only-child spirit, I have to share.
